With the first part of Sunshine Double in 2023 already beaing past, the next stop is just underway. Miami Open has already revealed the main draw, while qualiyfing matches are underway.

WTA main draw brought some exciting match-ups in first round, even before the top 32 seeds come into action. The absolute headline is a clash between Grand Slam champions. Bianca Andreescu and Emma Raducanu - both the players who claimed the US Open Championships title, will line-up the absolute hit of first round. Moreover, the winner will set-up another clash, with Maria Sakkari waiting for the better of those two in R2. Other interesting R1 matchups to watch are Shelby Rogers vs Sloane Stephens, Marta Kostyuk vs Elisabetta Cocciaretto or Camila Giorgi vs Kaia Kanepi. The draw shape foreshadows possible great match-ups in a top half. World's ranking leader and last year's title holder Iga Swiatek stands in the same quarter with Indian Wells champion Elena Rybakina, who has beaten her in the semifinals. The presence of the Pole in Miami is doubtful tough, as she stlll feels the rib pain after Indian Wells. Jessica Pegula can be a great contender her as well. The top American has some formidable path even up till the semifinals.

Both players are in the opposite sides of the draw, but their quarters are quite packed. Alcaraz can meet the top ranked American - Taylor Fritz in the quarters, with another top 10 player Holger Rune being there in the contention. Medvedev's quarter contains the 2019 winner from Miami - Hubert Hurkacz or Cameron Norrie who plays the great season so far. Alex De Minaur - the ATP title winner from Acapulco is also there, with Borna Coric or Matteo Berretini being dangerous as well.
