Lauren Davis and Elisabetta Cocciaretto will meet in the Saturday's final of WTA 250 tournament in Hobart.

The American advanced to the final after convincing win against Anna Blinkova. The match did not start really well for Davis who lost three opening games, being one break down. Starting from then, the player from USA has turned up her game winning 7 games in a row, clinching the first set on the way. Blinkova stopped the streak of losing games, improving in the second set, but did it was Davis who earned the only one break in second set and went to the final with a score 6-3 6-3.

Cocciaretto earned a notable victory against Sofia Kenin. The Australian Open 2020 champion was a favorite of this duel and her chances to tip the scales on her favour. Kenin was a break down after start of the match, but managed to level the score and created the setpoint during Cocciaretto's serve in 10th game. Kenin did not use her chance, allowing the Italian to break in another game and run away with a set win 7-5. Second set started the same, with a quick break for Cocciaretto and Kenin breaking back in another game. Kenin faced a chance to break her opponent and grab the set again. She converted her chance this time to make it into decider. The third one was a festive of great play of the Italian, who won first 4 games and did not give away her advantage, winning it 7-5 4-6 6-1 at the end. Sofia Kenin will now focus on her Australian Open appearance, where she faces up a big challenge, meeting with Victoria Azarenka in the first round.

Reaching the final in Hobart is the career's best result for Cocciaretto, who has never won the WTA level tournament before. The American has the one WTA title under her belt, winning in Auckland 6 years ago.
