The final match of ATP 250 tournament in Adelaide between Novak DJokovic and Sebastian Korda is a huge candidate to find it place in the tally of the best matches of the season, despite 2023 has started just a few days ago. The Serbian was a clear favorite, but this win was not gained without an effort for multi Grand Slam champion. First set brought the first break in 9th game, when it was the American who faced a chance to serve out the first set on his account. He could be no closer, leading 40-0 in the following game within his own serve, but he missed a few chances to close the game. Djokovic managed somehow to win 5 points in a row and level the set back again. Everyone could think, that Korda will burn out himself mentally after this kind of wasted chance. Despite that, the American defended a breakpoint in 12th game which was a set point for Djokovic at the same time. First set went into tiebreak, which was an amazing battle with a couple of set points on both sides. Korda turned on the upset alert, winning it surprisingly 10-8.

Second set was no less tight battle. Both players were holding their serves. 12th game was the crucial moment of the match. Korda managed to create a matchpoint during Djokovic's service game, but Serbian got out of this trouble and clinched the second set after a dominant tie-break win. Korda didn't give up in the deciding set. He saved two breakpoints in 4th game, but couldn't make it in the 10th and last game of the match, losing the first matchpoint for Djokovic, who secured an absolute stunning win, opening his 2023 in brilliant style.

This amazing duel was preceded by the WTA 500 tournament final, played by Aryna Sabalenka and Linda Noskova. Young player from Czech Republic, who defeated a few recognized names on her road for maiden WTA final did not upset the favorite this time. The match was staying on the high level from the start. Sabalenka confirmed her great performance throught whole the week, having another great day on serve, not conceding any break and winning the final 6-3 7-6(4). Noskova will earn 31 places in Monday's WTA ranking, advancing from 87th to 56th place, her career-high.
