Lyon will be one of the venus of the Hologic WTA Tour action in the following week with WTA 250 Open 6e Sens Métropole de Lyon indoor hard-court tournament. The competition which takes place in the post-grand slam week will consist some really interesting names from the top of women's professional field.

Caroline Garcia will be an absolute headline player of the upcoming tournament. The world number 5 will try to win the tournament on her home soil, definitely wanting to fight back after unsuccessful Australian Open campaign, with the cheering help of French fans. Second seed of the draw is Shuai Zhang. The Chinese, currently ranked 23, will take up a title defence challenge after winning the last year's edition of tournament in Lyon. Both top seeds will have quite a challenging task to solve in first round, while Garcia plays against Tereza Martincova and Zhang will try to overcome Madison Brengle. Another local favorite will be main draw's third seed - Alize Cornet. Experienced French player will face Camila Osorio in her opening match.

The tournament field will contain one Grand Slam champion as well, while Garbine Muguruza will appear in Lyon after receiving a wild card. The Spaniard will try to stop miserable run of losses and win her first match in year 2023. This will be not an easy mission though, as Muguruza, who fell down to 82th place in WTA ranking will face one of the sensations of the 2023 season's beggining phase in the name of Linda Noskova. 18 years-old player from Czech Republic has already showed up brilliantly in the WTA 500 Adelaide tournament. Noskova advanced there to the final, defeating players like Ons Jabeur, Victoria Azarenka or Daria Kasatkina on her road to the final which started in the qualifying stage. This time, the young Czech is a fully fledged main draw participant and will be an extremely though opponent for Muguruza, who tried to find back the traces of her world-class form from the past.
