Lauren Davis secured her second career's WTA title, winning the final match of Hobart 250 tournament with Elisabetta Cocciaretto 7-6 6-2. The first set was an even battle with holding serves one after another with a couple of long games played on advantages. Both players created 4 breakpoints each one, but no breaks appeared then. The most valuable chances came for the Italian, who was close to take the set with two BPs in 12th game on Davis serve. Cocciaretto did not capitalize it and then, the American dominated the tiebreak winning all the 7 points and clinched the set which lasted 74 minutes. It was the key moment of the match, as the Italian dropped the ball completely, giving the momentum for Davis who started second set with 5 games won in a row, not letting go her huge advantage and crossing the line easily.

Both players have risen their rankings just before heading into Melbourne, where they will play in the main draw of Australian Open. Cocciaretto reaches her peak rank #48, while Davis advanced with 27 places up to #57. The Hobart 2023 champion will face Danka Kovinic in the R1 of upcoming Grand Slam. Cocciaretto will take up a challenge to make an upset on reigning Wimbledon champion, Elena Rybakina.
