Daniil Medvedev vs Grigor Dimitrov and Jannik Sinner vs Tallon Griekspoor are the semifinals line-up in ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam.
Medvedev was playing the most exciting QFs duel on paper against Felix Auger Aliassime. The Russian showed some signs of his brilliance which allowed him to win the Grand Slam and become the world's number one some months ago, routining his opponent 6-2 6-4. Dimitrov - his SF opponent, was the one who delivered the best spectacle in all the QFs matches, defeating Alex De Minaur in three sets, securing the win in deciding set's tie-break. First two sets where shared between both players with a score 6-3. The Aussie was on the front foot in third one, earning the break in 3rd game, but Dimitrov leveled in 6th game. Another chances for De Minaur came in the tie-break, once he was leading 3-0 and faced two match-points, including one on his serve. He wasted his chances though and it was Dimitrov who advanced into semis after a delightful match-point rally on the net.
Jannik Sinner capitalizes on his great run of form, defeating Stan Wawrinka easily 6-1 6-3. The Italian will be a favorite of his semis match-up against Tallon Griekspoor as well. Griekspoor outplayed his fellowcountry Gijs Brouwer - the biggest sensation of the tournament, home player who is ranked #160 in the ATP list. Brouwer advanced to the quarterfinal after defeating Holger Rune, who pulled out of their 2nd round match due to an injury.
